Therápia Addiction Healing Center is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility. The traditional 12 Step approach to addiction recovery is an integral part of our approach to alcohol and drug addiction. We also incorporate cognitive therapy, family treatment and recreational or experiential therapy.
The 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous have been used by millions of people for over 70 years and have proven to be the most effective methodology for long-term sobriety. This all began with the Four Absolutes adopted by the Oxford Groups in the 1930’s that were expanded by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith to the current 12 Steps. Their chance meeting resulted in a sharing of experiences and ideas. They founded Alcoholics Anonymous on June 10, 1935, Dr. Bob’s first day of permanent sobriety.
The steps they took to sobriety are referred to as the 12 Steps which are:
We admitted we were powerless over alcohol – that our lives had become unmanageable.
We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
We humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
We made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.
We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
We continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong we promptly admitted it.
We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we know Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

After trying to end it all one night I decided I needed help or I was going to die or end up in jail for a very long time. I luckily found Therápia...
"First, I wanted to thank you for all you have done for Jeff, our family, and the amazing Band of Brothers. In 20+ years, I don't think I've met a person who could get through to Jeff the way that you have. Yes, you had a captive (no pun intended) audience with him, but, per his own words, 'If it hadn't been Davee...
