Virgin RiverA major component of experiential therapy is outdoor therapy.  Outdoor therapy helps you reconnect with yourself and nature to help you recover and heal. Therapia is close to many state parks and national parks such as Snow Canyon, Sand Hollow, Quail Creek, Zion,  Bryce Canyon, and the Grand Canyon, all perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking, nature walks, snowshoeing, and more.

Hiking

Southern Utah is full of beautiful hiking trails that are accessible year-round.  The scenery is breathtaking, perfect for reconnecting with nature.  Hiking has many health benefits, from improved fitness, balance and sleep quality, to increased creativity and self esteem.

Fishing

Henry David Thoreau said “Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” It couldn’t be more true.  Nothing beats going out early to sit by a lake to ponder and relax waiting for the fish to bite.  Fishing helps you slow down and appreciate the simple things in life as you seek recovery.

Ropes Courses

Part of our outdoor activities include our state of the art ropes courses.  Ropes courses help promote self-sufficiency, identify your strengths and weaknesses, face your fears, and learn to trust yourself.

Nature Walks

We understand how important it is to spend time in nature to help you on the path to becoming addiction free, so we include it it as often as we can as part of our addiction recovery program.  Taking a gentle walk in nature can help you slow down, refresh your mind, relax, and heal.

Snowshoeing

During the winter, exploring the frozen countryside is an amazing way to take your recovery to the next level.  Pristine mountains and calming landscapes make for incredible adventures, even when it is cold outside.
